The Taste of Honey

Tiny sugar crystals
Scrubbing my tongue
Melting away like butter
Leaving traces of foreign sunshine
Wildflower pollen
Mountains capped with snow
Streets bumpy with cobblestones
Skies open and wide
The call to prayer echoing upward

I love that the taste of a food can transport you. I don’t have a long post to write today, just a reflection on how a spoonful of something can take me back to a city known for cheese and honey.
